En promenant sa chienne Malie dans les ruelles du Plateau Mont-Royal, Jeremie remarque un avis de recherche concernant un animal perdu. Soudain, Malie s'arrete pres d'une cloture et renifle, comme s'il y avait quelque chose de l'autre cote. Jeremie est intriguee en croyant apercevoir deux petites croix. Et si les animaux recherches etaient morts et enterres la? Le mystere s'epaissit lorsqu'elle apprend qu'un nouvel eleve, Jacob, habite l'appartement donnant sur cette cour. Un appartement non meuble, en compagnie d'un pere plutot mefiant. Or quelques jours plus tard Jeremie aperscoit, parmi les nombreux avis de recherche, la photo de Jacob, "Un jeune ontarien enleve a sa mere par son pere". Jeremie vient en aide a Jacob, coince entre ses deux parents; de son cote, Jacob aide Jeremie a resoudre l'enigme des animaux disparus. |
