Many years before Lucy steps into the wardrobe, Digory and Polly spend a rainy summer exploring the attic of an old house. There they chance upon a secret room where Digory's strange uncle Andrew is conducting an experiment. Andrew thinks he has found a way to travel between magical worlds, and two children are just what he needs to test it.
